Handle Cookies with Retrofit/OkHttp

Solution one. Using PersistentCookieJar (which is easiest one)

Step 1. Add the JitPack repository in your root build.gradle at the end of repositories:

allprojects {
    repositories {
        ...
        maven { url "https://jitpack.io" }
    }
}

Step 2. Add the dependency

dependencies {
    compile 'com.github.franmontiel:PersistentCookieJar:v0.9.3'
}

Step 3. Use custom cookieJar to handle the cookies

OkHttpClient.Builder builder = new OkHttpClient.Builder();
OkHttpClient okHttpClient = null;

ClearableCookieJar cookieJar =
                new PersistentCookieJar(new SetCookieCache(), new SharedPrefsCookiePersistor(context));

builder.cookieJar(cookieJar);
okHttpClient = builder.build();

Done 🙂 Simple and easy.

Solution two. Using Interceptor to handle cookies

Step 1. Add a new Interceptor class to handle received cookie:

Step 2. Add a custom interceptor to add cookie header for each request

Step 3. Add two interceptors to the okhttpclient:

Solution three. Using custom cookieStore and CookieManager to handle Cookies

Step 1. create a new custom cookieStore Class:
